Back to Sky from Virgin media

Think ive been missing out, ok VM have been good to me offered a decent service and broadband never ever drops out and fast 10mb

i VM to tell them i needed a new deal as id been made redundant and needed to save some money etc, could i downgrade yes sir no problem you'le save 25p lol why ?? because your getting a triple bundle yeah im downgrading from xl tv to large tv anyways i was fuming 25p cheers very helpful

so my backs up and i started thinking, im paying for VMHD i hardly get zip all, i get no red button or anytime the new atlantic(HBO) looks decent as well

i have no option option to watch on a laptop either, so im going back to SKY

slightly less money than VM and a whole better package to boot, lets hope the internet works this time round

Looking forward to the cancellation call to VM today when they re-open at 8am

Call centres in india and people who really don't understand

the free sky routers are they any good ?? the last one 4 years back was dreadful

Re: Back to Sky from Virgin media

The current crop of Sky routers are alright, but could do better as far as WiFi is concerned IMHO.

I would strongly suggest that you keep your existing VM router and configure it to work as a WiFi Switch if the signal is good.

There are various threads on this forum that will provide you with the information on how to achieve this.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps (in inital connection time)
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Re: Back to Sky from Virgin media

Just connect the D-Link to your phone line and then use a patch cable to connect it to your Cisco Router - Turn off wireless on the D-Link and that should be all you need to do..
