Possible changes for August/September this year

There are rumours circulating around Sky following some discussions in house.

One possibility is that Sky will add a new Sky Sports channel to the line up for Family Bundle or HD Pack.

The channel could show the F1 races which are also being shown on Channel 4. Handy I guess for those who haven't got the legacy HD pack or Sky Sports.

Other suggestions include some Cricket, Rugby, UEFA, and Championship & League 1 football matches. Add to this coverage of the US Open, US Football, Darts, Golf and much more.

On top of all this, Sky may be looking to increase the Sky Sports prices by as much as another 12 per month.

Of course this is all just speculation at this time.

Remember those pics back in summer 2015.
They were from one of the many surveys at the time, just thoughts for reaction not plans.
That post on Digital spy was last summer by the way, so would be in the bin now.

The information I've had suggests that it has resurfaced.

I hope that wouldnt be Sky's way of getting rid of the free F1 channel access we get from the legacy HD pack entitlement

Why on earth would sky show C4 F1 broadcasts and C4 F1 HD broadcasts on their own sky sports channels?
You do not any legacy/f1 and or sports pack for that.
C4 and C4HD are fta on astra. You currently can watch how you want.

These rumours are probably based on Sky increasing their occasional showings of sports on the likes of Sky One, that have certainly increased this year, as a subscriber incentive. Much like BT sport are doing and the Premier Sports channel are doing.

Re: Possible changes for August/September this year

I don't think that they were going to show the Ch.4 broadcasts, more likely that they would show the same races that Ch.4 were going to show on both the F1 channels, as they would anyway, and the new Sports channel.

I guess it would be an attempt to publicise Sky Sports by saying "hey folks, we can do that too, but better".

Sport fans (especially football) should pay the full amount it costs to provide their ludicrously overpriced entertainment, instead of the rest of us subsidising it.

But you are already subsidising it.

If you have a BT based line then some of your monthly line rental goes to BTO whose profits are being hived off to subsidise BT Sport which is being provided for free to many of BT Retail's customers.

Sky sports worth every penny in my book.

For me on sky its the cost of movies that I can't justify, but its the selective nature of that, making the decisions.
Jut had a 50% through from Google on any movie on google play!
We have not seen it since the cinema, so just chosen Spectre.
Rent it in hd for 48 hours for 2, just about to watch via iPad and the Chromecast.
Might even go and get the Martian later too at same price.

Sorry sky, but its too expensive there, one movie to rent is 5.49.

Do you really think google isn't "loss leading" so that the next time/or in the near future you go on there you think "oh look! it's only...'s" let's buy it from here when in actual fact is free in the Sky Movies bundle or maybe cheaper on Sky Store?
Sky is currently the de-facto standard for most people to buy these things so they are taking advantage of the investment they have made to make these things as easy as possible.
Savvy buyers will always buy from the cheapest source but this was never really Sky's target market.
