Not sure how you work that out, sky movies would be 17.99 a month for us and wed probably only use it now and again, probably a few movies every six months, hardly free!
Looking in there now, there are about one or two movies wed watch, one of those Spectre.
As for sky store, its expensive for us, as we rarely buy ir rent movies.
Anyway, we ordered the free kung fu panda on sky store, just curious as how that system works, its been a over week and it still has not arrived. Would not ever bother with that again, not that we have a dvd/bluray so would be no use anyway, but like I said will pass on to the kiddies.

Do remember way back, there was a long trial and very cheap offer for lovefilm or similar, one of the first dvd by posts and then they started charging a lot more and it just was not worth it.
      Wonder what happened to them.
But then amazon, google play and iTunes killed them off I suppose.

Not at all. LoveFilm started back in 2002. Over the next few years, it growth was spurred by merging with various competitors in the UK & across Europe. In 2008, Amazon became a major shareholder when LoveFilm acquired Amazon's DVD rental by post business in the UK and Germany. In 2011, Amazon took full control of LoveFilm. That was also the year that LoveFilm launched a movie streaming service. Since then, LoveFilm streaming services have been integrated into Amazon Video. The LoveFilm name continues as a DVD rental business, although that is also still a part of Amazon. Presumably they saw the potential and invested to make some money from it.

I tend to agree that having a Sky Movies continuous subscription at 17.99 per month is not good value if some months there aren't any (or enough) films on that you want to watch.

Sky's NOW TV service is a cheaper, contract-free way to access Sky Movies (especially if you only want access now and again). We buy a one month pass for 9.99 about once every three or four months to catch up on recent movies that we didn't get around to seeing at the cinema (or have a second look at films that we did see at the cinema). If you watch say 4 films, it works out at about 2.50 each. Even cheaper on a per film cost if there are 6 or 8 films that you want to watch!

Well, never knew that with Lovefilm, just remember when they first did that offer, sure it was unlimited dvds a month, but short lived if I remember and very abused.
Probably as they got sucked into amazon that's why I've never heard of them for a while.

Yes agree, nowtv would be a much better option for anyone into their movies.

See a few posts about now that Sky Sports Mix details and prices will be announced in a week along with the Sky June price increases, so back to this threads starter.
Oh dear all those sky q customers will not be happy...

See in quite a few places now people are reporting it will be a new channel called Sky Sports Mix and announced with the price changes on March 21st.
A few threads on digital spy with sky employees saying the same.

But not being dropped from Sky Sports. So presumably a Family Bundle(*) subscriber with Sports AND Movies would still have to take the HD pack at further extra cost in order to watch Sky Sports in HD. We'll see I suppose!

(*) Family Bundle being the minimum bundle that can add the HD pack of course.

Re: Possible changes for August/September this year

In response to a customer question "will Sky Sports Mix be available on NOW TV as part of the Entertainment Pass?", a member of the NOW TV team has replied that they don't yet know whether it will be available as such (but will share more info, if there is any, closer to the release date). So I guess that's another strong indication that it's happening?

      Pretty much confirms it then.
See some more reliable posters on digi spy are confirming it too. one poster saying a July launch.

See the official June price info has gone up everywhere today, on all sky tv and even sky q pages.

      * Sky TV prices will change on 1 June. In accordance with our standard terms, your Sky TV package may rise by up to 10% in a minimum contract term.

Yes, CTD101 and bubblegun are usually (if not always) spot on with their info.

Re: Possible changes for August/September this year

Confirmation today that "Sky Sports Mix is go" summer 2016:

      https://corporate.sky.com/media-cent...e=email-alerts

Sky is launching a brand new sports channel – Sky Sports Mix – bringing a range of great moments from some of the world’s biggest sporting events to all its TV customers in the UK and Ireland at no extra cost. For the first time millions more Sky customers will be able to watch a mix of live sport including football, golf from Europe and the US, international cricket and much more as part of their basic subscription packages.

From the launch this summer viewers can look forward to regular live football from competitions including La Liga, MLS, FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifiers, as well as a select number of Premier League and Football League matches. Sky Sports Mix will also bring Sky’s long-standing commitment to women’s sport to a broader audience, with live women’s golf, cricket and netball. These will appear alongside shows like Game Changers and sporting masterclasses that connect Sky Sports to the passion that kids have for learning about and playing sport. The Sky Sports Mix channel line-up will also include insightful documentaries, sports entertainment shows and other sporting content that will amaze and inspire.

The launch of Sky Sports Mix will further cement Sky Sports’ position as the first choice for sport across a range of channels and products. Sitting alongside our award winning channel line-up Sky Sports Mix will be available in the same number of Sky TV homes as Sky Sports News HQ, a channel with an annual reach of 17m viewers. Sky Sports Mix will also complement Sky’s growing digital audience, where 35m monthly users engage with a range of Sky Sports products as well as its presence on leading platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and YouTube.

Sky Sports Managing Director, Barney Francis, said: “With Sky Sports Mix, we are giving millions more people access to great moments from some of the world’s biggest sporting events at no extra cost. It is a fantastic way for all Sky customers to be able to enjoy some of the great content that has made Sky Sports the first choice for sport.

“Sky Sports Mix will bring sport to more people and provide many different ways of enjoying our coverage, from high profile live events and fascinating documentaries to clips of incredible moments. Our aim is to offer sport in a way that can engage, encourage and excite everyone even further.”

A Sky Sports TV subscription package remains the only way to watch every minute of sporting action – more than 60,000 hours a year – across seven sports channels. In 2016 that means all four Majors and the Ryder Cup, live England Test cricket and every race from Formula 1. From August there will be 126 live Premier League games, with more top picks and Friday night matches for the first time, 127 Football League games and more than 300 live games from Spain’s La Liga.

The launch of Sky Sports Mix means that Sky TV customers will be able to enjoy access to live sport, the widest range of Catch Up TV services, as well as watch the most-talked about shows from HBO and Showtime on Sky Atlantic, Sky 1, FOX and many more exclusive channels. They can access all this whenever and wherever they want – live or on the go, via our mobile TV service, Sky Go.

No mention of any f1, that is what a lot were expecting, but could just be shoehorned into other sports.
