I don't think 2TB will be enough which is why I'm suspecting a SkyQ Gold might be on the cards. Then early adopters of Sky Silver will be kicking themselves. Happened with the 1TB/2TB boxes.

      And...

      • Supports Powerline AV1.1 – only compatible withother Sky devices

AV1.1????? Surely AV2 for 4K, that seems really daft.

Sky music, so itunes and spotify with it
The silver box has dual hdmi out, so hdni to another tv?
Also, the new sky hub router looks good, works with adsl and fibre.

      Very impressed to be honest
But without any costs, its hard to say how it works for us all.

It'll work out at about 30 a month more than you are paying now, if you have all the bits.

The small boxes look and feel very different to the existing Sky boxes.

All three are styled in a similar way. The new Shy Q Hub supports networking over your electric wiring. Only compatible with Sky devices, not HomePlugs or Power Line adapters.

      It has 2x 1gbit ports.
      WiFi 2.4Ghz n 2x2 MIMO, 5GHZ ac 3x3 MIMO.
      IPv6 compatible

The new Sky Q interface is very Sleat, with video NOT channel ID picture in the Now and next banner.

Both Vivo and YouTube apps will be included.

You can also stream music to the boxes.

UHD Channels will be launched in 2016. They will include sorts, movies and other entertainment channels.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

I think it's worth the wait. As a Sky customer this is a step up from what I have now. You don't need to reinvent the wheel just make it run better.

      Were you impressed Scubbie?

@scubbie, did you see my post on sky tv, hope that saves you some. Was not expecting so much inofrmation to come out, but its pretty comprehensive.

But all I see is people asking prices.
There will be more apps arriving soon too and netflix and mazon are rumoured to be, but when, not seen any dates.

BBC iPlayer wll be restricted on mobile devices like it is now. Thats them, not sky taking that decision.
But then with all the cuts announced today and later and more in spring for the BBC, perhaps that will not matter.

SkyQ will definitely have Netflix? Was that in the info released about it?

      Yes we were impressed.

The fact that you'll be able to watch you own content on say a tablet when away fro home as well, it will certainly help a lot of people.

There was no mention of recording on the cloud. I think that 2TB Is too little for a large family, especially with the potential for UHD.

The reaction time for the interface was prompt. The remotes work via Bluetooth.

Voice control will be added some time next year.

There are limits to the number of STBS and devices which will connect to the one central box.

The 'intuitive' aspect will also improve finding those shows that you are most likely to want to watch.

You can also check what your children are watching too.

As for the new Sky Q Hub, other than the specs we saw very little of that.
