Disaster Recovery I think, it is where a copy of the EPG software is stored for when you do a forced download on your STB.

I always thought DR stood for Digital Receiver, like in DRX890
But I see why the DR in DR stream could fit nicely with disaster recovery

That sounds better and fits the purpose.

Just a thought, but would be nice if sky had an official page, showing what the DR stream currently had available.
So many use it now, it would be so useful.

It'd be OK if it was the DRS stream. It's definitely Disaster Recovery as I've seen a Sky Specialist on their forums refer to it as such.

What would be the point of calling it Download Recovery stream stream? Its like referring to a PIN number, Personal Identification Number number.

You may very well be correct, but I'm afraid I take everything a Sky 'Specialist' says with a pinch of salt.

When it was from the EPG devs, I think I can trust they know what they're talking about so no salt needed .

      New EPG!!!!

It does stand for disaster recovery, when the TV tech department had 2nd tier support I worked in 2nd tier and if a download was done to boxes that caused issues we would trigger downloads with customers and the DR stream was often referred to as disaster recovery.

      Re: New EPG!!!!

During a visit to Sky last year it was referred to as the Disaster Recovery Stream by the EPG Developers present.

Since it is their responsibility to provide the firmware for this feature, I guess it is safe to say that this is what it is called.

As for when the next firmware will appear on the DR Stream, this depends on a few factors.

Normally it doesn't appear on the DR Stream until the majority of scheduled updates has been completed.

Over the past year and a half it has normally taken Sky about 6 weeks to roll the update out to all the DRX890 and DRX895 owners. The Pace, Samsung and Amstrad DRX780 runs are shorter. The updates are staggered so as to give the relevant teams time to pick up any issues which were not picked up during testing. If the faults are serious enough, the roll-out can be halted to allow further changes to be made.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
