Re: Sky may drop the price of broadband products

Sadly SFUP is far more expensive than anything else on the market. I think that perhaps Sky is holding something back.

...or am I just hoping that they will introduce something soon to allow SFUP to be reduced in price by a significant figure?

Just in case anyone is interested - I called Sky this morning to cancel my fibre order. He checked what offers they have, and we now have free (fibre) broadband for 6 months because we have sky sports (which is itself a short-term offer from them). So at least over the 12 month contract it will average out at 10/month, which is ok, as we pay 7.50 anyway at the moment.

A few weeks ago I called Sky intending to transfer fibre to Plusnet. They offered me a reduction of 10 per month for 3 months. As I have paid line rental a year in advance I accepted this. I intend to review the situation again in August.
You seem to have got a far better offer than me, though.
I have no problem with the Sky broadband. It's been rock solid since I got it. I'm more concerned with the price.

Re: Sky may drop the price of broadband products

A few weeks ago I enquired about a retention deal (as I'm out of contract and was also thinking of transferring phone & broadband to Plusnet). I was told there were no retention deals available. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. Nowt. Mind you, that was probably pre-BT Sport...

For existing Sky BB customers with Skytalk, if you pay line rental on a monthly basis and if you are willing to renew contract and you have been with Sky 5 years+ then there is another offer out there: free line rental for 6 months.

There's an even better one that I've just been offered - 12 months free line rental!

Grrrr - and there's me thinking I got a good deal . Well in six months I'll change over to yearly billing - that'll save me another 54.60 so by that time that saving has finished hopefully fibre prices proper will have started to drop.

if sky drop the fibre 40/10 package under 10 pound then I may consider it but if its only for a few months forget it.

The Fibre offers are "Global" (available to anyone) so they could be given along with another like the 12 month advance on line rental.
