      Unconfirmed rumour.

Sky Go Extra allows 2 more devices to be registered for an additional 5 per month.

      Nothing else changes.

      Re: Sky Go Extra

Can't see it being of interest to that many folk to be honest.

Unless you are a sports fan or a film buff it's pretty much useless anyway. If you want to watch "normal" channels like BBC or QVC (my wife!) etc. on your mobile device, you're stuffed. If you could watch all of your package's channels I admit it would be great, but at the moment it's something of a lame duck in my opinion.

      Re: Sky Go Extra

      Another unofficial confirmation.

Yes the rumour is true and is hopefully due to launch around the 19th of November (may be subject to change)

There are a few new features becoming available with this. You will soon have the ability to download the content onto your device wether that be on an iPad, Laptop, or selected Android devices and then watch the content back when you are away from home. The difference being this time is that the content will be on your device so you won't require an Internet connection to watch it. At the moment you can only do this on a laptop when you have the Sky Go desktop program installed. When the extra service launches you will then be able to do it on various devices.

Only two devices will be allowed to download content onto the actual device at any one time.

      Re: Sky Go Extra

Here's a bit of interesting information as well.

Fancy being in an advert? Do you have Sky and use Sky Go? Do you love it?

I like the 'TVCatchup' app for all the Freeview channels. Apart from it only streaming the local channels which can bee seen in London, it is pretty good and free. You just need to register on their website and confirm that you have a valid TV License.

In the September announcement it was confirmed that Channel 4 would be adding more content to Sky Go as well.

Certainly Sky Go could be improved hugely. Currently it is only the channels from Sky themselves which can be viewed. Dave, for example, is broadcast from UKTV and Comedy Central from Universal. There are plenty of other examples (i.e. Nat Geo, Discovery, MTV) which are from other broadcasters and could be added, but haven't.

There are also lots of programmes which are shown on Sky which aren't available to watch either. The Simpsons is a good example.

I also don't like how they have to stretch content which should be shown in the 4:3 ratio to fill the screen.
