Re: "Wake On Lan" through router.

I use WOL all the time to connect to my main PC from my laptop.
Obviously you have to enable it on your motherboard in the BIOS settings, then the easiest way is to download WakeOnLan to send the magic packets.

I think (not 100%) but wake on lan just uses the broadcast mac addr. Therefore no special setting up of the router should be required.

Re: "Wake On Lan" through router.

Hi, this is my problem. The couple of programmes that used to work fine when I was on NTL, Orb & Wakeonlan, don't seem to work now. What actual IP address & Mac address do I input.
      Thanks.

Re: "Wake On Lan" through router.

      PLEASSSSSEEEEE HELP!!!

Hi, i'm still having probs setting WOL to work.
Ok, say I use remotewakeup.com - Start your computer over the internet it asks for IP address & MAC address on port 9.

I have allowed port 9 through the router to Ip 192.168.0.136 which is my fixed address.

So there are some different Ip & Mac addresses for my PC, which do I insert.

My PC Ip address is 90.195.**.50, 192.168.0.1/2/136 through router.
There is a Mac address for the router, one on the LAN Conection physical address.

I'm all confused & just can't seem to get any to work.

      Can anyone help.
      Thanks.
