Is it possible to surf with laptop and desktop together?

      Hi

Is it possible to surf the net at the same time with my laptop (connected wirelessly) and desktop (connected via ethernet) via my sky router.

I am getting the message "conflicting isp" on my desktop

Thanks so much for your help

Re: Is it possible to surf with laptop and desktop together?

What you need to do is set up IP addresses manually for your laptop and desktop.

To do this go to 'Control Panel' (switch to classic view if you are not already)

Click 'Network connections', right click on the connection you are using and click 'Properties' (for your desktop it will probably be 'Local Area Connection' and for your laptop it will probably be 'Wireless Network Connection')

Double-click 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' then click the 'Use the following IP address' radio button

Enter the following details in the boxes for your desktop:

      IP address: 192.168.0.2
      Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
      Default gateway: 192.168.0.1

      Preferred DNS server: 192.168.0.1

Enter the following details in the boxes for your laptop:

      IP address: 192.168.0.3
      Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
      Default gateway: 192.168.0.1

      Preferred DNS server: 192.168.0.1

      Hope that helps!
