      Setting up the router

I have a friend who has been having a terrible time with Sky BB, she had a line problem which we think is cleared up now, the engineer originally came and setup the router but now that the line problems have been rectified the internet light is not on.
If the SKY username and password were not set correctly would that be a reason for no connectivity?
How can we access the username/password fields, looks straightforward on the basic Netgear router but not on the SKY one?

      Thanks

Mossywells sky router bouncer, or Mognuts utility have a facility to extract the routers adress and password, or here How to obtain your username and password from the sky router
I would have thought that if broadband is present on the line you would get a green internet light in any case.

If you are using the Sky router, that is an impossibility as it is hard coded into the router, ie no way it can be changed as it is.

If you have no green light - something else is wrong or the router is faulty.

      Re: Setting up the router

That being the case, if Sky tell me I am activated but the internet light on the router is not on, what should my next step be?

      Re: Setting up the router

Ring Sky and tell them you have no connection, the router is pretty much plug and go! Router should sync and internet light come on within a minute of power up. There may be a fault at the exchange or you may have a faulty router.
