      Sky Router

      Hi all,
New to all this but thought i'd give it a go;very impressed with the quality of this site, very informative and helpful.
Just about to join sky broadband max from AOL whom i've been with for six years would you believe. A little nervous but quite excited to join a new service with hopefully better speeds. What i'd like to know is a little information about the router supplied from SKY; I know it's the Netgear DG834GT router but as far as i'm aware there are two different models of the DG834 with the newest being DG834 1.02.28.I'm asking this because i use software called PFConfig for port forwarding but needs the exact router model to work properly. It would be very helpful if anyone knows the exact model number.

      Thanks in advance.

      Re: Sky Router

The Sky router is, as you say, a DG834GT. However its model number is probably academic as it runs a firmware specific to Sky.

      Re: Sky Router

      You're welcome.

Just a thought - you may not be aware but it is possible to use pretty much any ADSL router with Sky (though doing so will be breaking their T&Cs).
