      Exclamation Continually prompting for password....

      Hi

      Since I powered off the router this morning (I had originally used my old Netgear DG834 power supply which was identically rated but I am selling that so thought I would swap it for the new one), I am continually prompted for the login details for every little change.

      For example, navigate to 192.168.0.1 and it asks for the login. Then as the page loads, it asks again, then the l/h menu loads, it asks again, part of the status loads, it asks again, then the r/h help column loads, it asks again etc. etc. You press a button to look at something or apply something and it can be 7 or 8 logins before it is displayed.

      The actual router is working fine.

      So far I have....

      Tried several soft reboots - no change
      Tried powering off the router - no change
      Tried a full (button on the back) reset back to Sky defaults - no change
      Tried the above followed by a reload of my backup config file - no change

      Anyone any other suggestions? PLEASE

      Thumbs up Problem resolved.....

      OK

      This has been the situation all day - happened this morning, tried numerous times to correct it, no joy.

      Did all the above again when I came home from work - no joy.

      Have been backing up some stuff onto disc, logged back into the router after around 15 minutes and the problem has gone away - no changes from me, it's just gone and all is well again.

      Don't know what the answer is, but as long as it's working, I'm happy

      After browsing the manual all I can come up with is that the router was just feeling a bit lonely and wanted some attention... as long as it's back working, good job!

      I certainly wasn't feeling lonely, stressed, anxious, wanted to throw it through the window type stuff, but not lonely....

      Maybe the router is faulty and not communicating with the computer, you could try the netgear help site and see if anyone else has had this problem, or get onto sky and tell them you need a new router unless you have a spare one lying around that you can beg steal or borrow and try that.
