      Daily Disconnection around 7pm

I may have asked about this before but Sky were no help so i thought I'd get some more ideas.
The PC is hard wired to the router and typical stats are:
      Downstream 8190kbps, Attn 45db, NM 11db
      Upstream 397kbps, Attn 26.4db, NM 24db.

The downstream noise margin falls to around 9.5 db in the evening, the upstream remains constant.

Every evening at between 7pm and 7:30pm the router drops the connection as the noise margin suddenly falls to around 5db, after about 10 minutes normality is restored and I'm back to the 8mbps link speed an 9.5db margin.

How can I get BT/Sky to look at the problem, Sky just gave the list of the usual suspects, O for a spectrum analyser!

BTW I'm on the Long Eaton exchange.

Doubt it is anything to do with Sky.

Falling noise margin in the evenings is near universal. Suddenly dropping at the same time for only a few minutes is, and points to some other device kicking in then. Is that when your heating starts up maybe, you use the microwave, etc?

In any event its noise - almost certainly within your house or close by.

You may find the first sticky at the bottom of this post informative and reading a few other stickies too wouldn't hurt.

      Thanks Saturday,
      I'll read through them.
The router is connected via an extension, I've removed the bell wiring which improved the noise no end. The cable does run through the roof space so this might be picking something up from the neighbours.
I'll see if I can borrow a wireless adaptor and plug the router into the master socket to see if that makes a difference.
Its too much like hard work to cart the PC etc downstairs
