Router - leave on or turn off...

I have had Sky broadband for about 2 months now and to be honest I am very pleased. However, I have a niggly problem in that I have to reboot the router usually once a night before I start using it.

I normally switch everything off when I am not using the PC and this includes the router. When I come to use the PC the next day everything powers up but the router only gives me 10-20kbps instead of my normal 500+. If I reboot the router it is fine and generally works ok for the rest of the evening. I have tried to leave the router switched on but I seem to get the same problem.

      Any ideas ?

Log into your router and post your stats, it will give the good folk here a better idea of your problem, also which package are you on, and where is the router connected, master socket or extension.

      Apart for penrhyn advice

Could you please edit your profile and add the package details to it.

Do you have the router standing up or laying down? if its laying down use the feet that came with it and stand it up better for cooling and to be honest you should leave the router on all the time they tend to break after a while if they keep getting turned on and off one thing router really hate is getting hot and cold to often.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.
