Re: Sky Router Setup/Configuration

Hi all.

My Sky router packed in this morning and I am awaiting a replacement which I am told can take up to 14 days to arrive!

I already have a Netgear DG834GT router which I used before moving to Sky. As the Sky router is broken I cannot access the settings and wondered whether anyone could post them so that I do not need to wait for the Sky router to arrive.

I know I shouldn't but I would prefer to use my router on an ongoing basis as it is 108 Mbps and I used to be able to pick it up wirelessly from greater distances than the Sky router.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

You can get your ADSL username and password using the details of your faulty router from James's utility here.

Re: Sky Router Setup/Configuration

Hi,

I am new to this forum.. I have sky broadband router DG834GT..
After following the steps provided in this website, I could see/make changes to the configurations..
But the region drop down box has "Europe" only.. what i have to do in order to use this router to add non-european regions..?

It is listing down all the channels... from 1 to 15 or more...

Looking forward to the expert's suggestions on this...

Thanks and Regards,
Pras

Re: Sky Router Setup/Configuration

I am trying to set up my new sky router, I can connect online with my pc via an ethernet cable, and on my dad's laptop wirelessly. However I am having problems with my own lapttop.
I couldn't even get it to connect via the ethernet cable at first, until I accessed the router set up page and put the ip address etc into my laptop. Now I can connect wirelessly on the laptop but can't access any sites I just get the "Looking up sky.com" then "cannot display the page".
Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you get around it?

Re: Sky Router Setup/Configuration

Maybe a bit late, but have you tried resetting the router, by pushing a biro into the hole at the back for 10 secs or until the lights flash? This should reset it to the original settings.

Alternately, try running ipconfig /all on a PC connected to it. This should show the routers address, which you may have changed.

Re: Sky Router Setup/Configuration

You could, but all you have to do really is plug in the router to the power and the phone line, then switch the power on. Connect the router to the PC using an ethernet cable, the one supplied is yellow. Boot up your PC and when it is fully running click the blue IE icon and you are there.
