    Router waking computer

    This is a discussion on Router waking computer within the Sky Router forums, part of the Sky Broadband help category; Since opening some ports in my firewall to use bittorent my router is waking my computer from a shutdown state ...

      Router waking computer

      Since opening some ports in my firewall to use bittorent my router is waking my computer from a shutdown state i know i can stop this by turning the setting off in my bios but i do use this feature. Is there any other way i can stop this?

      You could turn the network card (wol) off in the bios, or do you need the nic to wake the PC up?

      I do have it set in the bios, as i do use the nic to wake the machine(PVR Reasons).
