      cant you just enable mac cloning on your router (if u have it) with the needed sky doo dads?

      It may not be that simple since Sky have added a Sky button the the admin page I am guessing its got something to do with updating the router and if thats the case who knows what the consequences are of trying to use your own router if you can get it to work.

      Is there an option to upload your own firmware to the device?

      Yes there is I think don't remember off the top of my head, but I would have thought sky would have done something to the router to stop people doing just that.

      I bet someone will give it a go though I will not be one of them

      yeah tbh i think thats the thing possibly yes you can overwrite there firmware.... but if you want to connect to the internet using skys bb service then probly not who wants to try eh eh eh eh ... aww go on

      but is there abackup your firmware option in there?

      Yes there is a backup option but that just saves a CFG file about 5k in size.
      There is a restore to factory default, again I think thats only configuration and not the actual firmware.

      I wouldn't like to try it though, you first :P

      @NewsreadeR: Yes I like to choose random silly SSID names, keeps the neighbours entertained.

      Got my box now -- how does one login? Tried admin/password, admin/[blank], admin/admin... admin/wpa key... no luck.
