Noise Margin Problem

sorry for a new thread could not find where to post this i dont know if anybody as had this but it started doing it last night in the router statistics page the noise margin was going from double figures to single figures at every poll interval of 10 seconds it did drop to 4.9 but i did not have any disconnects just slow pages

I've not heard of this problem before

My guess is maybe you've got a poor connection somewhere in your local wiring causing intermittent noise bursts, or maybe something like a branch blowing around in the wind and messing up an overhead line to the exchange, or maybe a router glitch causing duff reporting?

Easy thing first, power off your router for a couple of minutes and see if it still happens when you power back up.

Thanks for the reply i was begining to suspect noise on the line and then today the phone died and now all i get is noise and no dial tone bt coming tuesday i hope broadband is just about working at a reduced speed

update bt came today and found a split in the cable outside the house allowing water to get in and short it out im now happy again
