Complete router crash (note different to other issues)

      Another problem for me

Basically, over last 3 days, my connection has been going down every 10 mins or so, but unlike a normal timeout i cant access the router login when it does. Am i right in assuming this is a router problem and not a connection one? Im using an ethernet cable not wireless, and my noise margin is always 8 +. I did everything in dingdongs post, and no luck Thanks for help, and sorry if theres a post similiar to this, i did look and couldnt find one!

      hi

if u access the router can u reboot it [ie 0-100% on screen]if not try the reboot at back of router if it goes again unplug router for 30 minutes try again [netgear prone to overheating causing disconects also try the sky test see if it gives you an error report ],could be router phone sky and ask for a replacement under year guarantee constant disconnects etc

Tried leaving router off, for 30 mins, a couple of hours and a whole night - no luck

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

I'm having the exact same problem, got a new router from sky but its still happening! only solution is to turn it off then turn it on again and everything is fine for another 30 ish minutes..

Re: Complete router crash (note different to other issues)

Have you tried turning uPNP off in the router menu? if so you could post your detailed stats using the proceedure below to see if they show anything up.

Go to the utility web site:Sky Netgear DG834GT utility version 0.4 Click the “Get” detailed modem stats button and click “OK”.
Enter the router login user name and password.
At the next screen, click the back button on your browser.
      Click the “Download” netgear.cfg button.
What you do next depends on your operating system. On Windows XP, click the “Save” button to save the file to your hard disk. (If you click “Open”, you may find that the file association is one that doesn’t handle carriage returns the same way as the router, hence the reason for saying “Save”.)
Open the file in WordPad (not notepad).
