      Help me...... Please

      Hi,

I'm new to the forum, I've been struggling with sky for over 3 months now to get a router delivered.

My line has been active for 3 months and I know I've got an internet connection because my old netgear router is showing one.
Does anyone know if there's any way to use my old router to connect to the net?
Can I just input Sky's DNS server addresses etc to do this?
If so, can anyone give me these details?

      I hope someone can help,

      Tom

      Hi Tom

You could use your old router - more info here

Can I Use my own Router with Sky Broadband?

However until you have your Sky router its pointless. Give them a ring and chase it up

Thanks for the response. Worth a try I thought.

I have chased Sky, hundreds of times, I have honestly spent over 20 hours on the phone trying to sort this out - I am getting no-where with them, feel like I'm chasing my tail!

      Thanks again,

      Tom

Thats one question Il never be able to answer!!! We escalate these issues...look at my other post on this topic...'router issues' and it explains the escalation procedures and stuff. One answer my managers can never give is 'Whats happening to all the escalations regarding the sky routers??'

My router order has been "escalated" over five times now - still nothing! I now phone Sky at least once every day and every time I get a different answer - some of the people I talk to obviously find it too hard to deal with after reading pages and pages of note on my account, so I get put back through to the someone else in the same department and have to start all over again. It is VERY frustrating, to say the least - I know Sky has procedures it has to follow, but surely it's a very simple process, all it would take is one call from the right person at Sky to Unipart Technology Logistics to ask them to deliver me a router!!
My problem is now with the "service recovery team" and I've been promised and guaranteed that I will receive my router tomorrow, I'm not getting my hopes up too high because I've been told this before, but still, *fingers crossed*

      Finally!

I now have broadband!! Yeay!!! Over 3 months late, but I've got it

I have had to reboot the router daily since I got it, is that something other people have to do to get on the internet?

Thanks again to everyone who offered assistance

      Tom
