      Question Download Problems

      Hi Guys

I haven't had the need to post for a while but now have a new issue. I am on the Connect package and have had a few problems recently with my connection, not being able to access sites etc, especially secure sites such as my bank or even my own page in Ebay. They said something about dynamic ISP's and sites protecting theselves from unknown computers when I phoned.

Anyway, tonight I have noticed that I have little or NO download capability though my general net access is OK. When I connect wirelessly on a neighbours network (with his permission) I have quote good download speeds, but as soon as I reconnect to my own network the download speed drops to zero - the router status page says I am connected (as the net acces seems to confirm) but I dont understand why I cant download using my own connection

      Any idea out there?

If your neigbors connection is ok then it is unlikely to be the router or any other hardware software problem. It suggest the sky connection is poor for some reason.

What speeds are you and your neighbor on. It is possible that your neigbors connection is fixed at a lower speed than you and you may be syncing too high with your own. Try rebooting the router and see if that helps. If not i would contact sky
