      SKY Q Hub and Netgear GS108 (I think its a 108) hubs..

I'm having issues with SKY Q Hub which is fed into a netgear hub (and onward to lots of other wired devices/hubs/main Sky Q box etc).

Basically one or the other is (netgear hub or SkyQ) or perhaps both devices appear to be putting the LAN port between each other into powersave mode on the odd occassion.

The upshot is I loose connectivity and the only devices visible are wireless onto the Q hub/or the Q box AP.... I seem to have to restart both the Sky Q hub AND the netgear hub to get the whole network back into life (just restarting the one or the other alone doesnt work).. Its kind of annoying.. Dont know which one of the two , or perhaps both are responsible. Note I've got powersaving mode on the LAN ports in the Q Hub disabled...

      Any ideas anybody?....

      Thanks

      Slim

If you have a PC connected to the 2nd lan port on the Sky Q hub would a script to periodically download the Netgear's web interface home page prevent it from going into power saving mode?

Re: SKY Q Hub and Netgear GS108 (I think its a 108) hubs..

I think its on a port by port basis. Could be wrong though.. Its an Idea though.. I have a microserver plugged into the same switch so could easilly set something up like that. BTW Its a GS308.. Makes no difference they are both power saving though... PITA.. I'm thinking of getting a cheap managed switch, as EEE is disabled by default... I've been searching and cant seem to find any reference to being able to disable it.

Ive seen threads on Netgears forum about similar problems to mine with the Virgin hubs..
