Replace Sky Router with Sky Q Hub

I had Sky Q installed last week and have since wondered about replacing the existing router with a Sky Q hub from ebay.
Unfortunately my broadband and tv accounts are both with sky but are seperate, I pay broadband and my wife pays for the TV. I dont have fibre as its not available in our area.
I could pay 60.00 to get one direct from Sky but can get them for less than half that from that auction site.

Can this be done or do I need to bite the bullet and pay sky.

you could get one from ebay but I hate ebay you don't know who your buying off or who to trust, but if you do get a sky q hub it would be a upgrade from your current router, you can go third party routers but its more complicated to setup as you need details etc.

I got my Q Hub from Sky for 20 after moaning about the WiFi performance of the SR102. Might be worth giving them a call to see what they can do.

Re: Replace Sky Router with Sky Q Hub

Assume when you ordered sky q, you mentioned you had sky broadband at the same address.
I do not see why Sky would not have sent out a sky q hub to you.
Worth asking if you never mentioned you had sky broadband, sky would prefer you to have the sky q hub with sky q for their support and some features.

Noticed that many upgrading to fibre or requesting an upgrade recently are getting the sky q hub for 20 or sometimes free the plus delivery charge.
Its rare to see anyone paying the 60 now.
