Unhappy Why have Sky capped my line?

I have had Sky Broadband for the last 2 or 3 months. I am supposed to be on the max package, yet I have had nothing but constant drop outs and slow browsing in that time. Over the last week it seemed to be more stable with very few drop outs. So I have monitored my stats and the only difference i can see is that my line connection speed has dropped from 12000kbps to around 8oookbps, and the my noise margin has gone up from 7db to 12-14db. I have ran hundreds of speed tests and they are always around 6meg, where as before I got on average 9-10 meg.
Now I phoned to sky to find out what was happening and there systems had gone down and I was told someone would ring me back. They have not rung me back yet but this is nothing new as they still owe me five other calls that they have not returned. So I always ring them instead. But the conversation I had yesterday, he told me that they may of capped my line to get a more stable connection. This is all well and good but they are still charging me for the max package and they have not told me that this is what they have done. The only thing they have done is sent a letter about upgrades they have done and this should sort out all the issues they have had inlcuding the e-mail situation where people weren'tn getting any.
After all that is it likely that sky have capped my line looking at my stats above????
As I don't know much about what these stats do or what effect they have.

Sorry about the story The Very Grim Reaper.

If your line was unstable at the higher speed that is probably why they have capped it. Your NM is now much better and you shoudn't get freezes and lots of packet loss.

The product is UPTO it doesn't mean you will get that speed. I'm on the MAX package and only get 3.4 MB but it is stable.

Try getting a 6MB connection with unlimited downloads elsewhere for 10

indeed and it has probably been switched to adsl not adsl2 which is saving you a lot of errors on the line.

if you dont need unlimited downloads phone and complain and ask to be put on mid and save 5 quid, personally I would just be happy it was fixxed lol
