TP-Link Archer C9 and Sky Broadband

I've recently purchased an Archer C9 to replace my old (white) Sky Hub. However, no matter what I try, I just can't get it to establish an internet connection with my Openreach modem.

I have tried manually inputting settings into the WAN setup and I obtained the username and password from my Sky router using Wireshark but still nothing seems to work.

I've attached images from my router WAN config pages, would anyone give me a clue as to what I should be inputting?

      Thanks!

Sorry to be the bearer of sad news, but as far as I know, the C9 does not support Sky Fibre, it will support Sky ADSL but the authentication used by the two systems ADSL and VDSL are different. The router must support Option61 in the WAN DHCP request for Sky fibre, it's not PPoE.

There are several routers than can do this, the favourite at present is the Asus RT-AC68U, but even that must be re-flashed with DD-WRT or Merlin firmware.

Thanks for your response, I've realised that I forgot to mention that afaik my broadband is actually coming through the phoneline and isn't fibre. Does this mean that PPoE should be usable? My actual Sky router only lists MER as the authentication type, unless the openreach modem is unplugged in which case both PPoE and MER are listed.

Re: TP-Link Archer C9 and Sky Broadband

If you are using a BTO modem then you almost certainly have VDSL, which is a form of fibre with the last link from the cabinet using your existing copper wires. This is referred to as 'Fibre' by Sky and almost all other ISPs.

There is I believe DD-WRT firmware available for the TP Archer C9, although it is in the beta stage. This should allow you to connect to Sky Fibre.
      ftp://ftp.dd-wrt.com/betas/2015/04-0...ink_archer-c9/

Consult the DD-WRT forum for more information before you proceed.
