      Sky router problem

      Hi there,

Not sure what the problem is, this morning switched the router on and it won't let me access the net or anything.

All the lights are on, it connects to the internet and under network connections it shows that the pc is connecting to the router but can't log in to 192.168.0.1, it won't accept admin:sky, after 3 times it says authentication failed.

When going onto ie, it just says webpage cannot be displayed message. Tried rebooting pc and router and also reset the router (pushed little button in on back) all to no avail.

      Any idea's?

Take a ball-point pen & re-set the bad boy. You'll see a small hole on the back of the router.

Already tried that one! Doesn't make any difference unless I'm doing it wrong, held it in for about 10 seconds, waited for all the lights to come back on but still same problem....

Power it down (take the power jack out of the back), wait 10 seconds or so. Then stick the pen in, then put the power jack back in.

Failing that, have you got a tool box?

If so get the biggest hammer you can find and strike it as many times as you wish.

It really won't work ever again, but might make you feel better.

Ha! Felt like doing that this morning

Nope neither has made any difference (left it off for 20 mins & unplugged power cable, pushed reset button in & put power cable back in.... still the same!

Maybe I should call Sky and get a new one sent unless there is anything else I could do?

Try cleaning all your temp files in IE & then try it again?

Make sure that "Proxy server" is not ticked in Internet Options > Connections > LAN Setting!

Nah Fibre, even if the Proxy Server was ticked it would still connect, all-be-it slowly.

This sounds like a shafted router.
