      Random dropouts and msn issues

After 5 weeks off calling sky each day Ive finally got a useable sky connection this week however its constantly dropping out, the router doesnt appear to loose its connection but very 20mins or so you cant access anything!

This includes MSN, currently i can access most webpages but not msn, ive disabled upnp/dos protection etc, added msn into the firewall but still no luck.

      any ideas?

Ive reported it to sky who have reported it to BT even though my connection never actually stops. Ive got a DG834N and a DG834GT(Sky) and both do the same thing

I have been suffering from this today especially early this morning and earlier this evening. The connection is there because I can still use email but can't access any sites for 5 minutes or so then everything returns. As I post this it has been stable for a couple of hours though.

Probably won't make the slightest bit of differce but try re-installing msn or if your not already using it, windows live messenger.

I was having the same problem as i was using an extention lead across the room, i moved my pc next to my main phone socket and plugged it in which not only solved my drop outs with sky broadband but also i gained an extra 2mb connection speed, im now getting 7mb which is great saying i'd been paying BT 17.99 for just 1mb. I left BT for my online gaming, having bigger and better games out now, bt's 1mb connection was just to laggy on a 64 man server, so im happy to say that ive just had 4 hours on 2142 battlefield on a 7mb sky broadband connection with NO slow downs, NO drop outs, and i have NO complaints.
