Measuring performance of your wireless network

      Hi,

I have both my desktop and laptop wirelessly connected to the router and have shared the hard drives with each other.

Are there any tools to measure the actual performance of the network. My Desktop has the netgear 108mbps adapter, but my laptop only has a 54mbps adapter and when I try to stream video on my laptop from the desktop it's very jerky even thou both are reporting connection at their max speed (I know this means the theoretical max speed will only be 54mbps due to the laptop being the weakest link and I know that 'real' speed is less than reported).

So how can I test what the 'real' speed of my wireless network actually is?

      Thanks.
