      stats

      Hi All,

      can anyone tell me what speed i should be getting with these stats please.

      Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 8965 8555 0 3654 34418 00:05:34
      LAN 10M/100M 123 0 0 42 0 00:07:11

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 15323 kbps 766 kbps
      Line Attenuation 29.5 db 17.2 db
      Noise Margin 12.3 db 11.5 db

      this is what speedtest says
      10/30/2006 12:03 AM GMT 3453 kb/s 516 kb/s 25 ms London ~ 50 mi

      You have excellent stats so should be getting much better than this.

      Have you tried other speedtest sites to see if this is a one-off?

      e.g. http://www.speedtest.bbmax.co.uk/

      just tried that link

      says im getting 4106kb/sec

      You're not alone it seems. All I can suggest is what I suggested to this guy (post #6):

      Please Help!

      All you can do is rule out your wiring and your equipment. Then it's down to BT (your line - possible) or Sky (their exchange equipment or how they've set you up - more likely).

      i not got a test socket or a master socket.
      in the hall is a white blanking socket with cable coming out to other side of hall (where our phone socket is).. i removed blanking plate to look behind.
      in there,the main bt wires coming in from bt. then spliced into them are the cable coming out to other side of hall, and another set of cables going upstairs to the extension socket.
      so looks like there are two extensions coming off of the main wires coming in, and no master socket.
