Specific details about the various updates are normally guarded by Sky but where possible we can post that information in a separate thread and link to the thread from here to allow discussion of the updates there.

If you get a new firmware, outside a beta group, which isn't listed, please do let us know about it.

If you have an old version on your router, then you have two options:

      1. The first and best option would be to be patient as Sky doesn't roll out the updates to everyone at the same time. This allows them to monitor the feedback for any potential issues which could have been missed in testing.
      2. Alternatively, you can sometimes help to kick start your update by installing a much older firmware. You can do this by visiting the Sky website and download the latest version of the router recovery tool. This may install a much older firmware version than you currently have, but your router should then be in a position to download the current firmware which it should have. However, caution should be observed here. Since the updates are not pushed to all routers at the same time, it could well be that your router hasn't yet had the latest version made available to it. Also at the time of writing this Sky are currently rolling out IPv6 compatible firmwares to some of their routers. At this stage, we do not know whether a non-IPv6 router will connect once they switch over completely and the recovery tool might not help.

Download the Sky router recovery tool | Sky Help

Different models will vary, but in case the instructions aren't available with the recovery tool this is what you need to do in order to place the router in the 'Recovery Mode':

      • Sagem 2504N -
      • SR101 - Press the WPS and Reset buttons for 2+ seconds (to be confirmed)
      • SR102 - Press the WPS and Reset buttons for 2+ seconds
      • Q Hub (ER110 & ER115) - Has a built-in recovery mode so does not require the Router Recovery Tool

Note: The Netgear DG934G, Sagem 2504 and D-Link DSL2640S all look more or less the same. The labels underneath identify the manufacturer as well as some embossing in the case on top. All these routers (DG934, 2504 and DSL2640S), as well as the Sagem 2304n and Sagem 2504N should be placed on edge, using the supplied stand to keep them upright. This aids cooling and should give a better WiFi signal.

      Sky Router Login details
All Sky routers come with their own unique login details in order that they can connect to Sky's servers and from there access the Internet. There are currently two methods to get the details from your router. The table above will identify which method to use for your router. Please see the threads linked below for more information on each.

      Custom Firmwares
In the table we have listed details of custom firmwares which are available for some of the routers. These links should help you to find them. In most cases Sky have long since updated their current firmware and the custom firmwares may require critical for security reasons.

      D-Link DSL2640S
This router is essentially identical inside to the D-Link DSL2640B router. Using the original firmware should work fine, allowing you to use this router on a non-Sky ADSL/ADSL2+ connection. A link to their downloads can be found on the page below:

The Sky Hubs were created in-house by Sky. Currently, there are no custom firmwares for them.

A big thank you to everyone who has been helping to establish this thread by answering the call for help.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

Just one point Scubbie, the DG934G can be flashed with standard Netgear firmware, so in some respects Custom firmware is available. It is possible to flash it with DG834G firmware, then flash with DGTeam firmware.

Hello from your poor relations in Ireland . The SR101 hub here currently has f/w ver 1.16b.2216.R. I don't suppose there is any news of an update available for the ROI market?

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

I wasn't aware that you would have a different firmware version.

I'll amend the table to reflect this, but I have no information about any update. The current update is linked with the update we are seeing with the Sagem 2504N for IPv6.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

I noticed my connection had a bit of a wobble in the early hours. This prompted me to look at my SR102 connection stats and in doing so I noticed the firmware is reported as 2.1r.3727.R i.e. incremented up from q which I thought was the current (new) version? When this actually changed I can't say for sure - the last resync was six days ago and there's nothing noted in the log.
