Phooey! I was hoping that both these would be rolling out soon.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

The good news is that you have the current version.

2.53.0488.R got pulled shortly after it was rolled out. There were too many issues related to it, specifically affecting Mac users.

Yep, Sky don't do Macs regardless of what they say or think. You can almost hear the cringes if you ever have to ring up Sky broadband tech support and you mention you are using a Mac. This is the second time they have run into issues with router firmwares and Macs this year.

I believe that it was only the one public firmware which had an issue. However it was quickly resolved by rolling back to the previous version. Since then there has been no further updates.

      Re: Sky Router Firmware

I too noticed that I have 2.1r.3761.R, seemed to hit around 4am. Has increased my SNR to 6.8 and decreased the sync from 38.8 to 37.5 (approx)

Connection Speed 37537 kbps 6843 kbps
Line Attenuation 22.7 dB 0.0 dB
Noise Margin 6.8 dB 5.5 dB

Thank you Lettice and Angel_Rex for this. I've just updated the table to reflect this update.

Could you confirm what the DSL version is too please?

The speed drop that you've noticed Angel_Rex is most likely caused by the simple fact that BTO's FTTC network doesn't like people resetting their routers. It should recover but it might take a good 2 weeks.
