      Lose connection to router

After about 16 mins I lose my connection to the internet or so I thought. The problem is that after 16 mins I can't load any web pages and the connection status has frozen at 16mins 5 secs. I thought it was problem with the line but, today I had connected to internet radio which was still playing ok. If I try to log into the router I can't. The only solution is to turn off the router then, log into admin and tell the router to connect. Have I got a dodgy router?

      sort of.

This is probably a UPnP problem (the 15 min frequency is the clue).

Log into your router and turn it off.

Reboot the router and the PC.

      Should be fixed now.

      Hope that's it sorted then.

Very few people seem to have reported a completely trouble free experience with Sky but then ADSL2+ is a pretty tricky service. It seems only a short time ago that I was amazed to have a 512k connection compared to the old dial up days. Now I have over 20 times that!

I was connected in the first batch of SkyBB customers back in early August so I've had to learn as I go. Now that I know about the UPnP problem, the auto 108 wireless problem, the evening dropping noise margin problem, the noisy home circuit problem - and know how to deal with them - I have (touch wood) a pretty good connection now. I also have a 2meg BT connection but to be honest with my Sky connection the way it is I haven't used it for a week or two now.

I'm not stupid enough to get rid of it yet though. I told myself right from the start that I'd run both for at least 3 months or more until I'm completely confident in Sky.
