      Router on or off?

      Hi all,

There was a general consensus on here a little while back that it's best to keep the router switched on permanently to avoid connection issues. I was just wondering if this is still the case judging by the amount of people that have to reboot their routers to avoid slow down. I'd been leaving mine on but after a rather pityful download speed yesterday and a reboot i thought it might be better to turn it off after every session and let it clear itself.

What are peoples thoughts on this?

      Cheers.

The problem is more that routers are designed to bo on 24/7. The repeated drain of powering down and up are hard on them and can lead to futher issues such as overheating and shortening the lifespan of the router!
