      Question Saturday, scan results

I've scanned with all of the above and a few more. No virus, spyware or rootkit have showed up. But something still shutting down firewalls and anti virus. Still think I've got something though. My sister had a meessage saying 'windows trying to inject code into logon', and various other applications. Thought she might have passed it onto me. When I was with previous provider, I know someone hacked into my computer(that's why I changed) I saw the connection and was getting texts about it, thought it might be happening agin.

If you've found nothing with the tools suggested (and others) then I'd be inclined to think something else was going on rather than malware. However, like you I'd still feel a nagging worry.

The next steps I'd take would be to run two specific checks for rootkits:

      Rootkitrevealer
      http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilitie...tRevealer.html

      Blacklight
      http://www.f-secure.com/blacklight/try_blacklight.html

If they didn't find anything I'd turn to Highjackthis:

      http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php

and post the results and a description of the problem(s) on a couple of the highjackthis forums.

If still nothing then I'd accept defeat and wipe my system and do a fresh install of the o/s.
