      A few routers have a facility to load balance (e.g.two ADSL connections) across one LAN

      Many routers allow themselves to be used as a "wireless repeater" to boost range or offer an ethernet connection to an attached distant device e.g.
      PC->routerA->wireless->router B->ethernet->musicplayer

      I'm not familiar with the WGT624 so can't answer re. its capabilities.

      The Sky branded DG834GT doesn't support load balancing or as a repeater so would need to be routerA in the above example.

      Bridge

      Some routers (and usually only two of the same make) can be put into "bridging mode" You would have to have this sort of function built in from the get go.
