      trying to conect to a ftp site ?

      hi everyone , im using a mac and ive been trying to conect to a ftp site , ive tried various versions of ftp software and all will connect but none will show any directory listings ? is this blocked in any way by the router ?

      If you are accessing it and not hosting it you should not be having a problem, if you want to pm me a test account I can try for you to make sure the FTP account is ok.

      Download a trial copy of Transmit (imho the best FTP client for Mac OS X). Give it a whirl and post your results here.

      Also, please post details of FTP site and I will try it from my Mac and let you know.

      hi im actually trying to access the ftp from my dads mac , im not really up 100% on macs but get by , ive dwnloaded the trial versions of cyberduck and transmit , both connect to the ftp but wont display the folders , when i pop round me dads ill try again and also come on here with the details

      I am not familiar with a MAc a at all but on my PC I can use Internet Explorer to connect to my ftp, I just put this in the address bar:

      ftp://yourusername@ftp.yoursite.com/

      You will be asked for your password and away you go.
