Hi just joined sky and got the following package:
Sky+ HD box
Sky Broadband Unlimited
Sky Talk Unlimited
Sky Line Rental
Free Sky wireless ‘N’ router

However I was told I would be getting the latest wireless N router the black and silver one shown on the website
Sky Wireless 'N' Router - Our best ever coverage around the home
but i received a small white one with the Sky logo on one side. The box it came in called it a 'Sky Hub'. I cannot find any info on this or even any pictures on the web. Can someone please tell me have I been fobbed off with an old router and if so should i complain and ask for the latest one?

You've actually received the new new router, the one that isn't publicly launched until September. It's supposedly better than the Black and Silver one, though this remains to be seen in widespread testing.

Can you take a picture of yours, as we have refrained from adding ours as it was being privately beta tested.

It should be an SR101 ?

You have not been conned, the opposite in fact, you have received the very latest router which is not yet in general release. It would be nice if you can keep us up to date on how it performs, no one outside the beta testers has one and they are not allowed to say anything about it.

There are some members of this forum who are taking part in the Beta Testing.

As everyone has said, this router isn't available currently and I am surprised that you have been supplied the router.

There are some known issues with the firmware, but Sky are busy working to fix these. The beta testers are waiting for the next update at the moment. Knowing how the EPG Beta testing went, this should not be too long now. Since you have the Sky Hub, I would suggest that you contact Sky to see if you can join the other Beta testers on the private forum.

As for how good the router is or otherwise, this new router is not ready for the public at the moment.

As for the number of people involved in the testing, I don't know how exactly how many in all are involved. This router has been rumoured for well over a year and a half, so I would suggest that it is not more than a couple of hundred.

What I can promise is that we shall have information available for this forum when the router is officially launched.

I Signed up to Sky Fibre Last week with a live date of the 8th August , Could i be a lucky one and get the new router?

TBH I would prefer the new router than the Sagem 2504n it is miles better looking as a piece of equipment.

Thanks for your replies. You are correct the model number is SR101 and it is manufactured by Sky. I will report back when I get a chance to try it. My BB doesnt go live until the 26th.
