Setting up Sky Sagecom router
Is there any way my Sagecom router (which is not connected to fibre yet) can be used to connect up to ADSL temporarily? My set up date for fibre is 21 June but at the moment I cannot access the internet as I have just built a Windows 7 pc which will not recognise the existing Netgear DG834GT router. The Netgear worked perfectly OK on my old PC which was running Vista. I think it is probably a compatibility problem- the Netgear works OK with my tablet PC, which I am using for this post. Ideally I would like to be able to use the internet now to update Windows 7 and download programs and drivers etc etc. It would now be difficult to use my old PC as it has donated some parts, including the PSU to, the new PC. Does the activation by Sky have to wait until the fibre connection and modem are in place?

Re: Setting up Sky Sagecom router
If the mode is set to Auto, you should just be able to plug it in and away you go. However there are no compatibility issues with the DG834GT and Windows 7, if there were there would have been many reports about it. I have no problem with mine and have been running Win7 right from the beta. You are doing something wrong. Compatibility problems would only arise if you needed drivers for the router, which you don't.
