loss of ip address
My router does not set up an ip address.
I have called Sky, and they have tested all the lines. I have also connected to the main bt socket with no luck. Sky says that the signal to the house is ok.
Any help would be appreciated

How are you connecting? Wired/Wireless
Have you got your adaptor set so that it acquires an ip address from the router automatically?
Have you checked that your router ip address range has not been set so that no addresses are available?

I am connected both wired and wireless, and the ip address is set for automatic.
How do you check for ip address range as per your last comment?

It is a long shot, but log into your router and check that the dhcp sttings look ok for ip address allocation etc.

I checked all dhcp setteings, all ok, rang up sky to try to get to level three but there is 4 or 5 days waiting for a call back. Ratti3, I have not checked if there is a sync speed on the router. I will do when i get to it. What am I looking for and if it is not there how do i correct it. I was thinking of attaching my old modem and router to the pc, but obviously i need my password??
Thanks in advance
