Re: Recommended Router to replace the default sky routers
You have mis-read, it only replaces the Sky router. There are a few fibre modem router out there, but I doubt if any of them can be used to replace the BTO modem, especially with Sky.

Re: Recommended Router to replace the default sky routers
Can I take it that the Billion BiPAC 7800N router will also work on my current unlimited broadband setup?
If yes, then I might as well get one sooner so I get used to it before I actually get fibre.

Re: Recommended Router to replace the default sky routers
As it can handle PPPoA, ADSL and Fibre MER, it certainly seems a good choice.

Re: Recommended Router to replace the default sky routers
even though scubs is suggestion to me to use the 7800n directly to sky he made a suggestion earlier of using the sky router as a modem making 7800n useful for firewall etc

Re: Recommended Router to replace the default sky routers
@DM: Could I suggest that you create a picture of what you currently have connected to your Internet and start a new thread?
From there we could see what you currently have and make any suitable suggestions as to how to take things from there.
Try to show how things are connected by indicating whether they connect via Ethernet or WiFi. Also show where, if you have any, the HomePlugs and Network Switches fit in too.
Also could you add some indication as to what you would like to add to the network.
Simple names will do such as 'Phone', 'PC', 'PS3' & 'Sky+ HD STB'. No IP Addresses need to be shown.

Re: Recommended Router to replace the default sky routers
Going to take the plunge in the next couple of days with this modem to replace my sky one, tbh I don't think you can go wrong with it.
