      Using non sky router

I changed over from sky router last week to a netgear DG843G non sky router as the sky one kept repeatedly rebooting, which has cured the rebooting issue. However I have come across another slight problem. The PC has lost connection with the router a few times. I haven't actually lost internet connection, just the connection between PC and router. When this happens if I switch from wired to wireless, it works ok and after about 10 minutes I can switch back to wired and it's fine.
Before I disconnected old router I did a backup of settings and then reinstalled these settings to new router, did I do right doing that?

These are router stats if it helps

      Re: Using non sky router

well you can use a non sky router but its difficult to do theres a link here somewhere that retrieves your user name and password from the router but be ware as sky will know that your not using the sky router via the firmware and code.

If the settings have been applied to the new router and are working, then it should be OK. In saying that, I think you would have been better applying the settings manually, that way you are not risking carrying over any non-compatible settings.

With regards the disconnections, try re-installing the adapter drivers. It may also help if you reserve your PC's IP address in the router.
