      Well, Openreach came out today to measure up and mark out where the contractors are going to need to dig. 12m of pavement and then 8m across the front lawn, and from the engineer said, it'll probably cost BT over 1000 (and as much as 2000)!

      Contractors will probably be here middle of next week.

      It'll be interesting to see what speeds I am getting once the cable has been replaced. Apparently the cabinet in the street is already fibre followed by approx 30m of copper to my house, so who knows - 10Mb+?

      The thought has crossed my mind!
      But considering that absolutely everything else has been checked, then surely this is going to resolve the issue. I cant think of anything else that may be to blame (neither can any of the engineers that have been round - including a couple of SFI's).

      Just to say I had exactly the same problems as yourself frequent disconnects and slow speeds took nearly a year to fix when I was with BT Broadband. I finally got an SFI engineer to visit the property and it turned out to be my connection at the exchange was the problem once that was changed I was instantly up to full 8 Meg and a very stable connection. Hope the problem is rectified for you soon
