      Wireless laptop problems

I'm having a problem getting my laptop to connect to the internet through wireless. My laptop connects to the router but can establish no internet connection. I've tried everthing in the skyhelp package with no success.

Every time i try to connect to the internet i get the diagnostics pop up with "A problem with your network router..."

My laptop runs on vista and is only a couple of years old.

Any advice would be greatly received

      Thanks

      Hinch

      Re: Wireless laptop problems

To rule out software problems, boot into Safe Mode with Networking and see if you can connect.

Try updating your wireless adapters drivers from the manufacturers website. Do not believe Windows when it tells you your drivers are up to date, it only checks the MS data base which is not always complete..

      Re: Wireless laptop problems

try channging the security from wpa/wpa2 to wep this worked for me last night

1 connect to router via wired connection
2 type htp://192.168.0.1 into internet explorer
3 enter user name:- admin pasword:-sky
      4 click set up
5 click on wep under security options
6 use authenticion type open and choose 64 bit encription
7 type any thing into pass code click generate it will the generate a new network key write it down
      8 disconect the network cable
9 go to connect to network
10 right click on your sky network and change properties to security type to open then encryption type to wep then enter your new network key click ok
then you should be ready to go

      HOPE THIS HELPS
