Angry Constant disconnects, cant seem to find the problem?

      Hey guys,

Read through alot of posts that relate to my problem and still cant seem to find the solution still. Basically i have recently joined sky and got one of the new d-link modems. I spend most of my time playing online games.
At the moment i play call of duty modern warfare2 whilst having facebook up and listening to music online. But lately every 1-5 minutes im getting either lag online or constant disconnects.

At first i thought it was just my ps3 playing up but the fact that facebook stops loading and my music stops streaming too shows its surely to do with my router?

From what i've seen its my router seeming to reboot itself a lot due to the fact that the bottom green light keeps turning amber and then off after its done a few flashes. This is extremely annoying as you can imagine as it leads to me not being able to do the things i want to do.

So in short how do i fix this? Is it my ps3 playing up? or is it a router problem?
We have rang sky and they said it was something to do with the adsl link but after trying 4 others and still having the same problems this doesnt seem to be the case.

Upnp is turned off so it shouldnt be that either.

      Thanks in advance for answers.

Post your stats, from your normal position and from the Test socket.

That is very poor. Try it in the Test socket.

ADSL2+ is a lot more sensitive than BTs Max, any fault you have will be multiplied, this is why many say as you do.

These are my stats with much the same attenuation, you will see there is little comparison otherwise.
Connection Speed ...9213 kbps 1012 kbps
Line Attenuation........ 38 db 20 db
Noise Margin............. 9 db 7 db

Have you removed the faceplate as shown in my previous link and plugged into the Test socket using only the filter and ADSL cable supplied by Sky?

When you remove the faceplate are all your other sockets disabled, ie they have no dial tone.

Re: Constant disconnects, cant seem to find the problem?

Then I am afraid things do not look too good for you, you must have a very poor external line. You could ask Sky to check it, but 99 out of 100 they will say its OK, even if it is not. Is there any bad noise on your voice line, plug a corded phone into your test socket and dial 17070 and take the Quiet line option. If you hear any noise, report it as a noisy line to your phone rental provider.

      Off to watch the GP.
