      Sky Sagem F@ST2504 Router - Firmware 2.8Sky

My router rebooted overnight and when I checked it this morning I found that the firmware had been upgraded to Version 2.8Sky.

Unlike the upgrade to 2.6Sky, it appears that the settings have remained unchanged. Thank goodness for that, at least

But what has been changed in 2.8Sky? I had a quick look but could spot no changes to the menus.

Unfortunately the firmware upgrade has not fixed the recurrent problem of the router web server becoming unavailable, which requires a power cycle to fix (reboot has no effect).

Re: Sky Sagem F@ST2504 Router - Firmware 2.8Sky

My router power supply died after the firmware upgrade!

I've had to use a universal one to get it all back up and working.

I've noticed that my PPOA has switched back to MER but it seems to be pretty stable and hasn't dropped connections or anything.

Perhaps the update is for the new Anytime+?

Mine has updated, too. I can't see any differences though.

Give sky a ring and they'll sort you out a new router PSU. The failures are quite common on the sagem unfortunately.

Just fired a quick email to Sky and got a very fast response and they are sending me a new router FOC in the next 5 days, can't ask for better than that!

The firmware will be updated automatically. It will make no difference as it is obviously not the router that is the problem.

Re: Sky Sagem F@ST2504 Router - Firmware 2.8Sky

I've got 2.8Sky on my relatively new Sagem router. I'm trying to find a get around for setting up a VPN so that I can access my personal files remotely. I have a Netgear Stora which allows me to see the files on internet explorer, but I'd rather have a VPN set up so that I can directly access the NAS drive at home and save stuff there as well.

      Anyone got any suggestions?

Setting up a VPN will depend on what you have at your workplace, but these will give you an idea.

Setting up a VPN may not really be suitable for what you want to do, it will cost you about 80p a week, but Logmein Pro will do the job much better-
