      Re: Internet Disconnecting

How many telephone sockets do you use?
Is the router plugged into the master or an extension socket?
Are you running any extension cables to the router?
Does every telephone socket in use have a microfilter connected as the first thing?
Do you have Sky tv plugged into any of the telephone sockets?

      Re: Internet Disconnecting

I think I have two telephone sockets, one upstairs and one downstairs.
The router is plugged in a extension.
      No extension cables.
      Yes.
I have sky tv, but I need to go check for that.

      Re: Internet Disconnecting

Errors are probably building from the extension, causing the router to drop sync. It's really not a good idea to run the router off an extension socket, so move it to the master socket and re-post your stats.

      Re: Internet Disconnecting

      Good point, thank you.

I had sky broadband for years and I had it in the main socket, no problems. I just recently got a new computer and I put the monitor and router plugs in an extension.

      Here are the new stats:

      System Up Time: 02:20:36

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 179782 312068 0 1964 49982 02:19:44
      LAN 100M/Full 327439 202532 0 50796 2860 02:20:31
      WLAN 11M/54M 6070 0 0 123 0 02:20:19

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13309 kbps 944 kbps
Line Attenuation 30 db 15 db
Noise Margin 4 db 9 db

      Any good change?

      Re: Internet Disconnecting

Those stats show the reason why it is dropping out as the downstream SNR is dropping pretty low. Your uptime is over two hours - when did you move the router to the master socket?

If it is definitely connected to the master socket at the moment, give the router a reboot by taking the power cable out for ~10 seconds and then plug it back in. SNRs should be 7db+ after that and then continue to monitor for any drop-outs.

      Re: Internet Disconnecting

I just did as you said, reboot it by pulling out the power cable for 10 seconds and the noise margin is now 7 (was 8) db 10 db.
