Using Sagem as ADSL modem only?

I've got a Belkin wireless N cable router with Gigabit ethernet...

Is it possible to amend the settings of the Sagem, so that it acts solely as a ADSL modem? - then plug the WAN port of my Belkin into one of the ethernet ports on the sagem?

Could this be achieved by disabling DHCP on the sky router and setting the Belkin WAN to a fixed IP address (in the range available on the Sagem)

Then the Belkin can handle DHCP, and manage my gigabit connections - as well as providing some decent wireless N coverage

      Thoughs?

You usually just tell your cable router to receive an IP address automatically and then connect the wan port up to one of the ethernet ports on the sky router.
