      Sagem router and no connection to PC

      Hi, first post and it's an ask for help!
      I'm on Sky unlimited and have a Sagem router. My PC is new and running Windows 7, although this situation was happening on my last pc with XP running.
      Basically, thr router has to have been on sometime, i.e. longer than 10 minutes, for my computer to connect to the internet. The pc is connected to the router because it rapidly displays status changes i.e. yellow warning symbol, red no connection symbol if I turn off the router. I am connected using a ethernet cable.
      If I turn my pc and router on at the same time I just get the yellow warning symbol. Restarting the router can take several attempts before I can actually surf.
      Any thoughts please?

      What lights are on the router when you cant connect? Can you access the router status pages when you cant connect?

      Most keep the router connected 24/7, which avoids this. It also makes it available for updates.

      @Simon - the lights are on green as they should be. I can connect to the router through 192.168.0.1

      Interestingly I switched everything on at the same time and couldnot connect to the internet but got into the router okay. Upon resetting the router after this I connected straight away, unheard of normally.
      Thoughts?

      after trying EVERYTHING it turns out to be an intermittent fault on the router! monitoring for a few days before bugging sky to give me a new one.
