      What is attempting router logins?

Whenever i login to the router i get 2 entries, the first says login failure the 2nd says succesful.

Also it shows entries of a auto login nature which always fail, just wondering if any router setting is doing this or some software on the pc.

      Here is an example log.

Do you have the DG923g? I have been testing one for the past few days and get the same thing -

This seems to happen at almost every login. Note that all the entries have the same time stamp. I have no idea why it is happening, it doesn't with my DG834GT. I can only theorise that there is some sort of bug in the firmware which is V2.02.44

It's perfectly normal for the netgear v2 router.

It shouldn't be Simon, it means there is a bug somewhere.

Hi Tom I think it could be a good idea to ask if anyone with the V2 DG934G router have the same issues. I do. When you first login to the router
      Administrator login failure - IP:192.168.0.2
      Administrator login successful - IP:192.168.0.2

Well from what I know about the configuration of Microsoft web servers It's because the web browser will first attempt to use anonymous credentials to access the configuration pages from the router's web server. When this challenge fails the web browser falls back onto a user supplied set of credentials. It's normal behaviour and will happen even if the "failure" wasn't printed in the router log.
