      Re: Unable to connect

Ok, I have installed the majority of the drivers I can, but everytime I download SP3 i try and install it and I always get the error message stating that it is not a Win 32 application. Any ideas?

      Re: Unable to connect

It does look like your installation is corrupt as Simon suggested. I would advise running the System File Checker. On XP click Start>Run and type sfc /scannow and hit enter. It will come up with a notice that it can't be done while Windows is running, so click OK and restart. You may need your system disk.

      Re: Unable to connect

I have successfully removed SP3, I found a way that doesnt need my system disc, but the same error message seems to appear when I attempt to install the new SP3?

      Re: Unable to connect

Did you download the proper redistributable package and did it complete properly. Internet explorer has an irritating habit of saving incomplete files and saying they are complete which can throw the not a valid win32 application error. I'd try downloading the XP SP3 redistributable package again and also use the sfc /scannow as isitme suggested if you havent done so already.

      Re: Unable to connect

Have you tried running sfc /scannow? It may not ask for the disk.

      Re: Unable to connect

I have run sfc /scannow. I am downloading the SP3 from Microsoft Download Centre again. I know 100% that I am now running SP2.

      Re: Unable to connect

      The exact error message is:

      j:\WindowsXP-KB936929-x86-ENU.exe is not a valid Win32 application.

      Any ideas?
